When a fit 29-year-old Denmark soccer star, Christian Eriksen, appeared to suffer a sudden cardiac arrest during Saturday’s game with Finland, luckily on-hand medics successfully applied CPR and administered a defibrillator.
Thankfully, Eriksen is now recovering in hospital – but other victims of sudden cardiac arrest may not be so fortunate.
Therefore, it’s vital that a defibrillator is available at work, study, home and play which, together with effective CPR, can increase the survival rate of a sudden cardiac arrest from less than 10% up to 80%.
With over 30,000 Australians suffering a sudden cardiac arrest every year, installing a defibrillator can dramatically improve the odds.
Sudden cardiac arrest does not discriminate – even if you are young and fit, like Eriksen… Be prepared, buy a defibrillator today and don’t regret not having done so!
