Why full automatic shock delivery matters on the ZOLL AED Plus Fully Automatic
Around 25,000 Australians experience a sudden cardiac arrest outside hospital every year. In a real emergency, untrained bystanders face two points of hesitation: applying the pads and pressing the shock button. The ZOLL AED Plus Fully Automatic removes the second one entirely - it analyses the rhythm, warns that a shock is coming, and delivers it without requiring any button press. The rescuer follows the prompts. The device handles the decision.
A ZOLL AED Plus Fully Automatic from Integrity Health & Safety gives you:
Automatic shock delivery without button press
When the ZOLL AED Plus Fully Automatic detects a shockable rhythm, it announces that a shock will be delivered, counts down, and delivers it automatically. No button press required. Real CPR Help coaching via audio, text and bar gauge continues throughout the rescue. In a hospital caregiver study, rescuers using Real CPR Help achieved target compression depth and rate in 78 per cent of attempts versus 15 per cent without it - a fivefold improvement from the same people.
Real CPR Help throughout the rescue
Real CPR Help technology in the ZOLL AED Plus Fully Automatic provides compression depth and rate feedback via audio, text and an on-screen bar gauge throughout the entire rescue. An adaptive metronome guides the rescuer to at least 100 compressions per minute. Fully automatic shock delivery and continuous CPR coaching work together throughout the response without requiring any intervention between analysis and shock cycles.
Five-year consumables, seven-year warranty
Duracell 123A lithium batteries provide a five-year standby life within the unit, with enough capacity for approximately 225 shocks or 13 hours of continuous monitoring. CPR-D-padz electrode pads carry a five-year shelf life. The seven-year warranty is one of the longest in the AED market. Automatic self-testing helps ensure readiness between uses. For paediatric patients, pedi-padz II electrodes are available separately - the AED automatically recognises them and adjusts to paediatric ECG and energy levels.
Compliance support
From 1 January 2026, South Australian private sector workplaces must have a defibrillator. The ZOLL AED Plus Fully Automatic is TGA listed and meets the legislative requirement. Its fully automatic operation is particularly well suited to sites where rescuers are unlikely to have prior training. Our team can assist with placement assessment, compliance documentation and staff familiarisation.
Competitive Pricing
The ZOLL AED Plus Fully Automatic is $2,295 with free shipping and a seven-year warranty. Five-year battery and pad life keeps maintenance straightforward. The semi-automatic version is available at the same price for trained-responder environments. If WiFi connected fleet monitoring through Programme Management Onboard is needed, the ZOLL AED 3 at $2,895 includes that capability built in - the AED Plus does not include WiFi connectivity.
Is the ZOLL AED Plus Fully Automatic right for your site?
The ZOLL AED Plus Fully Automatic suits locations where rescuers are unlikely to have prior training - offices, shopping centres, community facilities, sporting clubs. It removes the shock button decision entirely. If your site has trained first responders who prefer to confirm the shock, the semi-automatic version is available at the same price. If you need built-in WiFi fleet monitoring, the ZOLL AED 3 at $2,895 includes Programme Management Onboard with WiFi connectivity - the AED Plus does not.
For locations where bystanders are unlikely to be trained: the ZOLL AED Plus Fully Automatic at $2,295. Delivers a shock automatically. Real CPR Help feedback, IP55, five-year consumables, seven-year warranty.
For sites with trained first responders who want control over the shock decision: the ZOLL AED Plus semi-automatic is also available at $2,295. Same Real CPR Help technology, same IP55 rating, same seven-year warranty - with the rescuer pressing the shock button. For built-in WiFi fleet monitoring and up to 360 joules, the ZOLL AED 3 is available at $2,895 with Programme Management Onboard.
The ZOLL AED Plus Fully Automatic covers adult patients with the included CPR-D-padz. For patients under eight years or 25 kg, pedi-padz II paediatric electrodes are available separately with a 24-month shelf life. When connected, the AED automatically recognises them and adjusts to paediatric ECG and energy levels without any manual switching.

Frequently asked questions
How does the ZOLL AED Plus Fully Automatic differ from the semi-automatic version?
Can the ZOLL AED Plus Fully Automatic be used without training?
What is the energy output and waveform of the ZOLL AED Plus Fully Automatic?
What environments is the ZOLL AED Plus Fully Automatic rated for?
What support does Integrity Health & Safety provide with the ZOLL AED Plus Fully Automatic?
The key difference is the shock delivery mechanism. In the semi-automatic version, the AED analyses the rhythm, advises a shock, and requires the rescuer to press the shock button to deliver it. In the fully automatic version, the AED analyses the rhythm, warns that a shock will be delivered, and delivers it automatically - no button press from the rescuer. Both versions include identical Real CPR Help technology, the same energy output (120J, 150J, 200J), the same IP55 rating and the same five-year battery and pad life. The choice depends on whether your site's rescuers are likely to be trained or untrained.
Yes. The ZOLL AED Plus Fully Automatic is a Publicly Accessible Defibrillator designed for bystander use without prior training. It analyses heart rhythm, announces that a shock will be delivered, and delivers it automatically - the rescuer never needs to press a button. Voice and text prompts guide pad placement, CPR compression rate and depth, and every other step of the rescue. Training is recommended to build confidence, and we provide free familiarisation with every purchase.
The ZOLL AED Plus Fully Automatic delivers escalating biphasic energy at 120 joules, 150 joules and 200 joules. The waveform is a rectilinear biphasic waveform - ZOLL's clinically validated defibrillation technology. The fully automatic model delivers the shock after a countdown, without requiring any input from the rescuer. Paediatric energy adjustment is automatic when pedi-padz II electrodes are connected.
The ZOLL AED Plus Fully Automatic carries an IP55 dust and water resistance rating and is tested to MIL-STD-810F military standards for shock, vibration, temperature extremes and altitude. It operates reliably in a wide range of environmental conditions. The device performs automatic self-tests to help ensure readiness between uses. Five-year consumable life means it remains ready through extended storage periods.
Every ZOLL AED Plus Fully Automatic purchase includes free shipping, free familiarisation training for your team, free site audits and ongoing paramedic-led support. As an authorised ZOLL distributor, we assist with warranty registration, placement assessment and compliance documentation. Our team is available throughout the device's warranty period.
