ZOLL AED 3 replacement battery, a sealed pack that fits only the ZOLL AED 3 defibrillator
The ZOLL AED 3 battery, a sealed pack with a five-year installed life.

The sticker on the cabinet says the battery went in a few years ago, and nobody is quite sure what that means for today. AED battery replacement is the one maintenance job every defibrillator owner faces, and the usual mistake is ordering the wrong pack, because each brand Integrity HS stocks uses a different battery and runs on a different clock. This page lists every stocked model, the battery it takes, how long that battery lasts and what it costs, so you can order the right one in a couple of minutes rather than an afternoon.

How often does an AED battery need replacing?

Every four to five years for the defibrillators Integrity HS stocks. The LIFEPAK CR2 battery and the HeartSine Pad-Pak last four years. The ZOLL AED 3 battery, the ten 123A cells in the ZOLL AED Plus and the Mindray C Series battery are five-year items. Replace any battery sooner if the unit reports it low.

ZOLL AED 3 Battery

The five-year battery for the ZOLL AED 3

This is the battery for anyone running one or more ZOLL AED 3 units: offices, schools, councils and sites that manage a fleet through PlusTrac. It is the only battery the AED 3 takes, and it is not the same part as the ten cells in the older ZOLL AED Plus.

  • Five years between battery changesOnce fitted, it has a five-year installed life, so the next battery change is five years from the day this one goes in.
  • Battery and pads fall due togetherThe AED 3 CPR Uni-padz carry a five-year shelf life, so most owners change both in one visit and reset one date instead of two.
  • Sealed, with nothing to chargeIt is a sealed lithium manganese dioxide pack. There is no charger, no cradle and nothing to top up between changes.
  • No guesswork on fitMade for the ZOLL AED 3 only, SKU 8000000696. If your unit is an AED Plus, you need the sleeve of ten 123A cells instead, not this pack.
  • Its status is reported for youThe AED 3 connects over Wi-Fi to ZOLL PlusTrac, so a battery that is due shows up in the program dashboard rather than waiting for someone to walk past and check.

LIFEPAK CR2 Lithium Battery

The four-year battery for every LIFEPAK CR2

This battery suits every LIFEPAK CR2 owner, whether the unit is the Essential, the WIFI or the 4G Cellular model, and whether it is semi or fully automatic. Workplaces, clubs, schools and connected fleets all use the same pack.

  • Four years of standby from a new batteryA fresh battery keeps the CR2 in standby and ready for four years before it is due again.
  • Enough energy for many rescuesA new battery holds 166 shocks at 200 joules or 103 shocks at 360 joules, far more than any single event will use.
  • Warning comes with time to spareAfter the low battery warning the unit still has 30 minutes of operating time and six shocks in reserve, so a warning is a prompt to order, not a crisis.
  • One battery for the whole CR2 familySKU 11141-000165 fits the Essential Non WIFI, the WIFI and the 4G Cellular, in semi automatic and fully automatic form.
  • Pads run on the same four-year clockLIFEPAK CR2 Replacement Pads have a four-year shelf life and cost $178, so most owners order both together.

AED battery replacement for the two most common fleet units

Fit and battery life lead, because that is what this search is really about. Neither pack is better than the other. Each fits one family of units and nothing else.

Which battery do you need?

Not a ZOLL AED 3 or a LIFEPAK CR2? Find the unit you own below. These three situations cover the rest of the range we stock.

You own a HeartSine 350P, 360P or 500P

There is no separate battery to buy. HeartSine builds the battery and the electrodes into one Pad-Pak cartridge with a single expiry date, so a battery change and a pad change are the same job, done in one go.

Choose the Pad-Pak 03. It lasts four years, costs $249 and fits all three units. Children aged 1 to 8 or under 25 kg need the paediatric Pad-Pak 04 at $299.

You own a ZOLL AED Plus

The AED Plus does not take the sealed AED 3 pack. It runs on ten Duracell 123A lithium cells, sold as a sleeve of ten, and they last five years in the unit. The two ZOLL batteries are not interchangeable, so check the model name on the front before you order.

Choose the 10x Lithium 123A Batteries. $112.20 for the sleeve, and the CPR-D-padz share the same five-year cycle, so change both together.

You own a Mindray C1A

The C1A and the C1A 4G take the Mindray C Series Battery, a disposable lithium manganese dioxide pack. Its five-year shelf life counts before it is fitted. Once installed, expect about 3.5 years of standby, and the 4G model sends a replacement reminder through AED-Alert 2.0.

Choose the Mindray C Series Battery. $395, and the same pack also fits the Mindray C2.

Replacing pads at the same time? Our AED pads page covers electrodes for every model. HeartSine owners will find the whole cartridge explained on our HeartSine Pad-Pak page, and AED Plus owners can read more on the ZOLL AED Plus battery page.

Questions people ask before ordering a battery

How do I know when my AED battery replacement is due?

Start with the date. The interval is four years for the LIFEPAK CR2 battery and the HeartSine Pad-Pak, and five years for the ZOLL AED 3 battery, the ZOLL AED Plus cells and the Mindray C Series battery. Connected units do the remembering for you: the AED 3 reports through PlusTrac, the CR2 WIFI and 4G through LIFELINKcentral, and the Mindray C1A 4G sends battery reminders through AED-Alert 2.0. A low battery warning on any unit means order now.

Can I use the ZOLL AED 3 battery in a ZOLL AED Plus?

No. The ZOLL AED 3 takes a sealed lithium manganese dioxide pack with a five-year installed life, $226. The ZOLL AED Plus runs on ten Duracell 123A lithium cells, sold as a sleeve for $112.20, which also last five years in the unit. Check the model name on the front of your defibrillator before ordering, because the two are not interchangeable.

How much does an AED battery replacement cost?

The ZOLL AED 3 Battery is $226, the LIFEPAK CR2 Lithium Battery is $325.82, the HeartSine Pad-Pak 03 is $249 with the electrodes included, a sleeve of ten 123A cells for the ZOLL AED Plus is $112.20, and the Mindray C Series Battery is $395. The HeartHero Elliot uses four standard CR123 cells. Prices can change, so check the product page before you order.

Should I replace the pads when I replace the battery?

Usually, yes, because the makers put them on the same clock. The LIFEPAK CR2 battery and pads are both four-year items. The ZOLL AED 3 battery and CPR Uni-padz are both five-year items, as are the AED Plus 123A cells and CPR-D-padz, and the Mindray C Series battery and MR62 pads both carry five-year expiries. HeartSine settles it for you by building both into one Pad-Pak. Pads also need replacing after every use, whatever the battery says.

What batteries does the HeartHero Elliot use?

The HeartHero Elliot runs on four Duracell CR123 long-life lithium batteries, which are standard non-rechargeable cells rather than a sealed proprietary pack. The Elliot app reports battery status over Bluetooth, and the unit runs daily, weekly and monthly self-tests, so a low battery shows up on your phone. If the battery door is lost or damaged, the Elliot Replacement Battery Door is $115. Pads are a separate cartridge with a five-year life.
