The HeartSine Pad-Pak 03. Battery and adult electrodes in one 0.2 kg cartridge.

Your HeartSine has sat on the wall for years, and now the date printed on the cartridge says it is nearly time. Or the unit has just been used and you need it ready again by tomorrow. Either way you are looking for a HeartSine Pad-Pak, and the first thing most people ask is whether they also need to buy a battery. You do not. HeartSine builds the battery and the electrode pads into one cartridge, so one purchase puts the whole unit back to full readiness. This page covers the two versions Integrity HS stocks, the adult Pad-Pak 03 and the paediatric Pad-Pak 04, what each costs, and how to tell which one your site needs.

What is a HeartSine Pad-Pak and which units does it fit?

A HeartSine Pad-Pak is a single cartridge that holds the battery and the electrode pads together, so there is one part to replace and one expiry date to watch. It lasts four years and fits the HeartSine Samaritan 350P, 360P and 500P. The adult Pad-Pak 03 costs $249 and the paediatric Pad-Pak 04 costs $299.

The standard cartridge for adults

The Pad-Pak 03 is the one most HeartSine owners need. It suits any workplace, club, shop or home where the people near the unit are adults, and it is the cartridge to keep on the shelf as a spare.

  • One part to replace, not twoThe battery and the electrode pads (the sticky pads that go on the chest) come in one cartridge. After a rescue or at expiry you swap a single item and the unit is ready again.
  • Four years before it needs attentionThe cartridge has a four-year life and one expiry date printed on it, so the reminder in your calendar is a single line rather than two.
  • Fits every current HeartSine modelThe same Pad-Pak 03 slides into the Samaritan 350P, 360P and 500P, so a site with a mix of models only needs one kind of spare.
  • Steps up the energy if the first shock does not workThe manufacturer datasheet lists 150 joules for the first and second shocks and 200 for the third. A joule is the unit of shock energy, and the defibrillator chooses it for you.
  • Replaced free after a genuine rescueHeartSine replaces the Pad-Pak at no cost after genuine use, conditions apply. Using the unit to save a life does not cost you another cartridge.

HeartSine Pad-Pak 04 Paediatric Battery and Electrode Cartridge

For children aged 1 to 8 or under 25 kg

The Pad-Pak 04 suits anywhere children are regularly present: primary schools, childcare centres, swim schools, junior sport and family homes. Most sites keep it beside the unit alongside the adult cartridge rather than instead of it.

  • A lower shock for a smaller bodyThe manufacturer datasheet lists 50 joules for every shock with the paediatric cartridge fitted, against 150 to 200 joules with the adult one.
  • Nothing to set in the momentFit the Pad-Pak 04 and the defibrillator delivers child energy. There is no child button to find and no setting to change while someone is on the floor.
  • Same four-year life, same single dateLike the adult version it holds the battery and the pads together with one expiry date, so both cartridges can be checked in the same glance.
  • Fits the 350P, 360P and 500PIt goes into the same slot as the adult cartridge, so you do not need a different defibrillator to be ready for children.
  • Child readiness without a second unitAt $299 it adds paediatric capability to a defibrillator you already own, for a fraction of the cost of another device.

Who the cartridge is for and what energy it delivers lead the table, because that is the only real decision. Everything below is shared, which is why most sites end up keeping one of each.

Which Pad-Pak do you need?

Three situations cover nearly every cartridge order we take. Find yours below.

The date on the cartridge is coming up

Your 360P or 500P has done nothing but wait for four years, which is exactly what you paid for. Now the printed expiry is a few months away and you want the swap done before it lapses.

Choose the Pad-Pak 03. It restores the battery and the adult pads in one go, and the next date to watch is four years away.

Children are on site every day

A primary school, a childcare centre, a swim school or a club with junior teams. The adults are covered by the cartridge already fitted, but a child aged 1 to 8 or under 25 kg needs a lower energy shock.

Choose the Pad-Pak 04. Keep it beside the unit with the adult cartridge, so whoever opens the case can fit the right one in seconds.

Several HeartSine units across different sites

A fleet of 350Ps, 360Ps and 500Ps across depots or branches, each with its own expiry date, and one person expected to keep on top of all of them.

Choose the Pad-Pak 03. One cartridge fits all three models, so a single spare on the shelf covers any unit that is used or expires early.

Questions people ask before ordering a cartridge

How long does a HeartSine Pad-Pak last?

Four years. Each Pad-Pak carries one expiry date, printed on the cartridge, that covers both the battery and the electrode pads inside it. Replace it when that date arrives or as soon as it has been used, whichever comes first. The adult Pad-Pak 03 and the paediatric Pad-Pak 04 have the same four-year life, so a site that keeps one of each can check both dates at the same time.

Do I need to buy a separate battery for a HeartSine defibrillator?

No. HeartSine puts the battery and the electrode pads into the Pad-Pak cartridge, so there is no separate battery to order for the Samaritan 350P, 360P or 500P. When the cartridge expires or is used, one new Pad-Pak restores both at once. That is different from most other brands Integrity HS stocks, where the battery and the pads are separate items with separate expiry dates.

Which HeartSine defibrillators does the Pad-Pak fit?

The Pad-Pak 03 and the Pad-Pak 04 both fit the HeartSine Samaritan 350P, 360P and 500P. The three models take the same cartridge, so a workplace running more than one of them only needs to stock one kind of spare, plus a paediatric cartridge where children are present. Check which model you have before ordering, and call 1300 720 024 if you are not sure.

What is the difference between the Pad-Pak 03 and the Pad-Pak 04?

The Pad-Pak 03 is the adult cartridge and the Pad-Pak 04 is the paediatric one, for children aged 1 to 8 or under 25 kg. According to the manufacturer datasheet the adult cartridge delivers 150, 150 and then 200 joule shocks, while the paediatric cartridge delivers 50 joules each time. Both last four years and fit the same units. The 03 is $249 and the 04 is $299.

Is the Pad-Pak replaced free after it has been used?

HeartSine offers a free replacement Pad-Pak after genuine use, and conditions apply. While a claim is being processed the defibrillator has no working cartridge, so most sites order a new one straight away or keep a spare on the shelf and claim the replacement to restock it. Call Integrity HS on 1300 720 024 and we will help you with both the order and the claim.
