Mindray C1A vs C1A 4G: the same defibrillator, two ways to keep it ready

Identical hardware, $455 apart. One you check yourself, one that reports its own health to a dashboard.

Mindray BeneHeart C1A fully automatic defibrillator, the shared body of the non connected and 4G versions
The Mindray BeneHeart C1A. Both versions share this 2.3 kg body and the same pads.

You have settled on the Mindray C1A, and then the shop offers you two of them. The Mindray C1A vs C1A 4G decision is not about which unit treats a cardiac arrest better, because it is the same defibrillator in both boxes: the same 2.3 kg body, the same shock timing, the same eight-year warranty. What separates them is who does the checking, and that is worth $455 on the invoice. Integrity HS is Indigenous-owned and was founded by intensive care paramedics, and we talk buyers through this one most weeks.

What is the difference between the Mindray C1A and the C1A 4G?

The rescue hardware is identical. Both weigh 2.3 kg, deliver a first shock in under eight seconds, carry an eight-year warranty and share a five-year battery and pad life. The 4G version adds AED-Alert 2.0 remote monitoring over a free eight-year data plan, and costs $2,345 against $1,890.

Mindray C1A Non Connected Defibrillator

Checked by a person, on site

The non connected C1A suits a site where somebody is there every day and a monthly look at the unit is already part of the routine. Offices, workshops, clinics and single-building workplaces with a named first aid officer.

  • The first shock lands fastQShock delivers the first shock in under eight seconds, and the unit raises the energy on later shocks if the heart needs more.
  • Guidance that matches the person holding itResQNavi gives real-time voice and on-screen guidance, pitched to the pace and experience of whoever is doing the compressions.
  • Five years between consumable ordersThe battery and the pads are both rated five years, so a fitted unit normally needs nothing bought for it until then. Pads are $120 and the battery $395.
  • Adults and children on one set of padsA child mode button drops the shock to between 35 and 90 joules for ages 1 to 8 or under 25 kg. The universal pads identify themselves to the unit, so there is nothing to swap.
  • Rated for indoors and outdoorsIP55 means dust cannot get in far enough to matter and low-pressure water sprayed from any direction will not stop it. Eight-year manufacturer warranty.

Mindray C1A 4G Connected Defibrillator

Checked by the unit, reported to you

The 4G version suits fleets and places without daily staff: sporting grounds, remote depots, second buildings, and any organisation that has to prove a defibrillator was ready on a given date.

  • It reports its own readinessAED-Alert 2.0 sends the results of the daily, weekly and monthly self-tests to an online dashboard, so the status of every unit is visible without anyone walking to it.
  • You hear about a fault the day it happensFault notifications and device status reminders arrive as they occur, rather than at the next inspection, along with battery and pad replacement reminders before the dates pass.
  • You know if the unit is movedGeolocation flags a defibrillator that has left where it was meant to be, which matters in public foyers and shared sites.
  • Eight years of connection, at no extra costIt talks over the 4G mobile network on a free eight-year data plan, so it does not need your site Wi-Fi, a password, or a spot near an access point.
  • The same unit in a rescue2.3 kg, QShock under eight seconds, ResQNavi guidance, the child mode button, IP55 and the eight-year warranty are all identical to the non connected model.

Monitoring leads, because it is the only part of the unit that changes. Everything below those first rows is shared, which is why this comes down to your site rather than the hardware.

Where each version earns its place

Mindray C1A vs C1A 4G comes down to one question, and it is not which unit is better. It is who will notice, and how soon, if this defibrillator stops being ready.

One building with a named first aider

Staff are on site five days a week, the unit sits by reception or the lunch room, and one person already walks the floor with a check sheet each month. The indicator on the front tells them everything they need in a glance.

Choose the non connected C1A. You are paying for monitoring you already have, and the $455 stays in the budget.

The site you visit once a quarter

A sporting ground, a pump station, a storage yard, a holiday let. Nobody is there on an ordinary Tuesday, so a flat battery or expired pads could sit unnoticed for months, and finding out means a drive.

Choose the C1A 4G. It reports over the mobile network without site Wi-Fi, which is usually the only thing that works at addresses like these.

Two buildings and one budget

The gap between the two versions is real money when you are covering more than one address. Two non connected units come to $3,780, against $4,235 for one connected unit plus one that is not.

Choose the non connected C1A. Cover both addresses first, as long as each one has somebody who will do the checks.

Weighing connectivity across the wider range? Our WiFi vs non WiFi defibrillator page covers what connected units report from brand to brand, and our Mindray vs Elliot page puts the C1A beside the lightest unit we stock. Our Mindray vs ZOLL defibrillator page sets the C1A 4G against the other connected unit we stock.

Questions buyers ask about the two versions

Is the Mindray C1A 4G a different defibrillator to the standard C1A?

No. In a rescue they behave the same way. Both are 2.3 kg, both measure 28.6 x 21 x 7.8 cm, both deliver the first shock in under eight seconds through QShock, both give ResQNavi voice and visual guidance, and both carry an eight-year warranty. The 4G version adds remote monitoring on top of that hardware, and nothing else changes.

How much more is the Mindray C1A 4G, and are there discounts for quantity?

The non connected Mindray C1A is $1,890, down from $1,995, and the C1A 4G is $2,345, down from $3,095. That is a difference of $455. Both listings offer a discount for quantities, so a multi-site order is priced on the number of units. Call 1300 720 024 with your site count for a quote.

What does AED-Alert 2.0 actually tell you?

It is the online dashboard behind the 4G version. The unit runs daily, weekly and monthly self-tests and sends the results to it, so you see the status of every defibrillator you own from one screen. It also raises fault notifications, reminders before the battery and pads expire, and a geolocation flag if a unit is moved.

Do both versions use the same pads and battery?

Yes, so the running costs match. Both take the universal Mindray MR62 pads at $120, which suit adults and children and identify themselves to the unit, and the Mindray C Series battery at $395. Both are rated five years, and the battery holds about three and a half years of standby once it is fitted.

Can a Mindray C1A be mounted outdoors?

Both versions are rated IP55 and listed for indoor and outdoor use. IP55 means dust cannot get in far enough to affect the unit and water sprayed at low pressure from any direction will not stop it. For an exposed position, ring us before you order and we will talk through how the unit is housed and how it will be checked.
