Search for ZOLL defibrillator pads and the shop shows you three different products, and only one of them fits the unit on your wall. The ZOLL AED 3 and the ZOLL AED Plus are close relatives, but their pads are not interchangeable, and a set ordered for the wrong model sits unopened in a drawer while the unit keeps flagging an expiry. Integrity HS stocks both units and every pad set for them, so this page tells you which pads your ZOLL takes, what they cost and when to replace them.

Which pads does a ZOLL defibrillator take?

It depends on the model. The ZOLL AED 3 takes CPR Uni-padz, one set that covers adults and children, $226. The ZOLL AED Plus takes CPR-D-padz for adults, $190, and Pedi-padz II for children under 8, $113. Both adult sets have a five-year shelf life, and the CPR-D-padz fit the AED Plus only.

ZOLL AED 3 CPR Uni-padz

One set for adults and children, made for the AED 3

The Uni-padz suit any site running a ZOLL AED 3: offices, schools, gyms, sports clubs and council facilities. One pad set treats an adult or a child, so there is nothing extra to stock and nothing to swap in a hurry.

  • One set covers everyoneAdult and paediatric in a single pad. For a child, reposition the pads and select child mode on the AED 3. There is no second box to buy, store or find under pressure.
  • Coaches the rescuer on every compressionA built-in accelerometer, a small motion sensor that sits under the rescuer's hands, measures each compression so the AED 3 can give Real CPR Help feedback as it happens.
  • Five years before you think about them againA five-year shelf life, matching the five-year installed life of the ZOLL AED 3 Battery, so one calendar reminder can cover both consumables.
  • Goes on in one pieceThe two electrodes are joined in a single pad, so there is one item to peel and place rather than two separate pads to position.
  • Rescue kit in the boxEach set includes a rescue accessory kit, and the AED 3's seven-year warranty covers its battery and pads for five years.

ZOLL CPR-D Plus Padz Adult Electrodes

Adult electrodes with a depth sensor, for the AED Plus only

The CPR-D-padz suit anyone keeping a ZOLL AED Plus in service. The unit has been on the market since 2002, so there are many of them in workplaces, clubs and community halls, and each needs this set when the pads expire or get used.

  • Real CPR Help comes from the pad itselfA compression depth sensor is built into the one-piece pad. It is what lets the AED Plus tell the rescuer to push harder, show a live depth bar gauge and run a metronome at 100 compressions a minute or more.
  • Five years on the shelfA five-year shelf life, the same as the ten 123A lithium batteries the AED Plus runs on, so both consumables can be checked and replaced on one cycle.
  • One piece, one placementBoth electrodes and the sensor are built into a single pad, so a rescuer places one item rather than two separate pads while the voice prompts carry on.
  • The set the AED Plus was sold withCPR-D-padz are the adult electrodes supplied in the box with a new ZOLL AED Plus, and the product page lists them for the AED Plus only, so you know they fit.
  • A children's set to sit alongsideFor patients under 8 or under 25 kg, add ZOLL Pedi-padz II, $113. The AED Plus switches to its paediatric algorithm when they are connected.

Which unit each set fits leads the table, because that is the question that matters before you order. The rest tells you what you get and when it needs replacing.

Which ZOLL pads do you need

Nearly every order for ZOLL defibrillator pads that reaches us falls into one of three situations.

Your AED 3 was used in a rescue

The unit did its job, the used pads went out with the ambulance, and the AED 3 is back on the wall with nothing connected. Pads are single use, so the unit is not ready again until a fresh set is fitted.

Choose the Uni-padz. One set puts the AED 3 back in service for adults and children alike, and the rescue accessory kit is replaced along with it.

Your AED Plus pads are approaching their expiry date

The AED Plus has been in the corridor for years, the pad packet shows a date in the next few months, and somebody has been asked to sort it before the next audit. The batteries may not be far behind.

Choose the CPR-D-padz. They are the adult electrodes the AED Plus shipped with, and while you are ordering, check the ten 123A batteries, which run on the same five-year cycle.

Children are on site and the unit is an AED Plus

A school, a swim centre, a childcare service or a family with a ZOLL AED Plus at home. The AED Plus switches to its paediatric algorithm when Pedi-padz II are connected, so a children's set needs to sit beside the adult pads.

Choose the CPR-D-padz and add Pedi-padz II. The children's set has a two-year shelf life against five for the adult pads, so diarise the two dates separately.

Not sure whether the pads or the battery fall due first? Our ZOLL AED Plus battery page covers the ten 123A cells, our adult vs paediatric defibrillator pads page explains when a child needs different pads, and our defibrillator pads page covers the other brands we stock. The ZOLL Pedi-padz II are in the shop.

Questions people ask before ordering ZOLL pads

Do the ZOLL AED 3 and ZOLL AED Plus use the same pads?

No. The ZOLL AED 3 uses CPR Uni-padz, a single set for adults and children with a built-in accelerometer. The ZOLL AED Plus uses CPR-D-padz for adults, which carry a compression depth sensor, and Pedi-padz II for children. The Integrity HS product pages list the CPR-D-padz and Pedi-padz II for the AED Plus only. Check the model name on the front of your unit before you order.

How long do ZOLL defibrillator pads last?

The CPR Uni-padz for the AED 3 and the CPR-D-padz for the AED Plus both have a five-year shelf life. The Pedi-padz II children's electrodes for the AED Plus last two years. Every pack carries an expiry date, and pads are single use, so a set that has been on a patient is replaced straight away regardless of the date printed on the packet.

Can ZOLL Uni-padz be used on a child?

Yes. The CPR Uni-padz are universal adult and paediatric electrodes, which is the point of the AED 3's integrated paediatric rescue. For a child, you reposition the pads and select child mode on the unit, and the same set does the job. That removes the need to stock a separate children's pad set, which the older ZOLL AED Plus still requires in the form of Pedi-padz II.

Do I need to replace ZOLL pads after using them?

Yes. Defibrillator pads are single use, so once a set has been applied to a patient the unit needs a fresh set before it is ready again. For a ZOLL AED 3 that means a new pack of CPR Uni-padz at $226. For a ZOLL AED Plus it means CPR-D-padz at $190. It is also a good moment to check the date on the battery.

How much do ZOLL defibrillator pads cost?

The ZOLL AED 3 CPR Uni-padz are $226, the ZOLL CPR-D-padz for the AED Plus are $190 and the Pedi-padz II for children are $113. If the battery is due at the same time, the ZOLL AED 3 Battery is $226 and a sleeve of ten 123A lithium batteries for the AED Plus is $112.20. Call 1300 720 024 if you are ordering for several units.
