Mindray and HeartSine

Mindray vs HeartSine defibrillator: pick the one your site can keep ready

Both are fully automatic with eight-year warranties. One is lighter to carry, the other goes longer between changes.

The Mindray C1A, 2.3 kg, with a first shock delivered in under eight seconds.

Two units, two makers, and $315 between them on the invoice. The Mindray vs HeartSine defibrillator question is rarely about which one shocks better, because both are fully automatic and both carry eight years of manufacturer cover. It is about upkeep and handling. One is built so a site can leave it alone for five years at a time; the other is built to be light and to have a single part to think about. Integrity HS is Indigenous-owned and was founded by intensive care paramedics, and this pair comes up often enough that it is worth setting out plainly.

What is the difference between a Mindray and a HeartSine defibrillator?

The Mindray C1A and the HeartSine Samaritan 360P are both fully automatic and both carry an eight-year warranty. The Mindray weighs 2.3 kg, delivers its first shock in under eight seconds and runs five years between consumable changes. The HeartSine weighs 1.1 kg and uses one Pad-Pak cartridge, replaced every four years.

Mindray C1A Non Connected Defibrillator

Five years between consumable changes

The C1A suits a site that will do its own checks: a depot, a factory floor, a council yard or a school with a named first aid officer. Nothing reports back to a dashboard, so somebody walks past it, looks at it and signs the sheet.

  • The first shock lands quicklyQShock gets the first shock out in under eight seconds, and the unit raises the energy for later shocks if the heart does not respond to the first one.
  • Five years before anything needs reorderingThe MR62 pads and the C Series battery each carry a five-year life, at $120 and $395. Two reminders in five years, not two a year.
  • Guidance that adjusts to the person using itResQNavi gives voice and on-screen prompts in real time, pitched to the pace and the experience of whoever is doing the compressions.
  • A child is one button awayPress child mode and the shock drops to between 35 and 90 joules on the same universal pads, which the unit recognises by itself. Adult energy is configurable from 200 to 360 joules.
  • Rated for the shed as well as the officeIP55 means dust is kept out and water sprayed at the case from any direction will not stop it. Eight-year warranty, and a discount applies on quantities.

HeartSine Samaritan 360P Fully Automatic Defibrillator

Half the weight, one part to track

The 360P suits a unit that does not stay in one place, or a small site where the paperwork is nobody's full-time job. Clubs, trades, boats, clinics and reception areas, where the thing that goes wrong is an expiry date rather than the weather.

  • One item to reorder, one date to watchThe Pad-Pak holds the battery and the electrodes in a single cartridge with a single expiry date, four years of life, and a price of $249.
  • Light enough to take with youAt 1.1 kg and 20 x 18.4 x 4.8 cm it lifts off a bracket one-handed and rides in a kit bag to an away game, a job site or a boat.
  • Using it does not leave you with a billHeartSine replaces the Pad-Pak free of charge after genuine use, conditions apply, so a real rescue costs you nothing in consumables.
  • No shock button to hesitate overIt reads the rhythm, warns everyone to stand clear and delivers the shock itself, while voice prompts and a metronome set the rhythm for compressions.
  • Cleared for aircraft and boatsIP56 means protection from dust and from sprayed water, it works from 0°C to 50°C, and the warranty runs eight years. Updates load over USB.

Mindray vs HeartSine defibrillator: the figures that differ

Where each one earns its keep

Picture who opens the cabinet and who signs the maintenance sheet. That settles the Mindray vs HeartSine defibrillator choice faster than any spec does.

The depot that does its own checks

A supervisor walks the site, looks at the indicator and signs the sheet. Nothing is connected, and nobody wants a reorder landing every couple of years across a dozen units.

Choose the Mindray C1A. Five-year pads and a five-year battery keep the diary quiet, and quantity discounts help when several sites are fitted out together.

The club whose kit travels

The unit goes in the bag with the strapping tape, out to a ground, a regatta or a remote job, then back to the clubroom. Weight is noticed and gear gets dropped.

Choose the HeartSine 360P. At 1.1 kg it is half the weight of the Mindray, and one cartridge means one date to check before every season.

The school or childcare centre

Small children are on site every day, and a second set of paediatric consumables is another purchase, another expiry date and one more thing to find in a hurry.

Choose the Mindray C1A. Child mode is a button on the unit and the same pads stay fitted, so there is nothing to swap and nothing extra to buy.

Still shortlisting? Our Mindray vs ZOLL defibrillator page puts the C1A beside a connected unit, while Mindray vs Elliot and HeartSine vs Elliot bring the lightest unit we stock into the picture. Our HeartSine 360P vs 500P page covers the choice inside the HeartSine range itself.

What buyers ask us about these two brands

Is a Mindray or a HeartSine defibrillator the better buy?

Neither, on its own. Both are fully automatic, both carry an eight-year manufacturer warranty, and both treat adults and children. The Mindray C1A fits a site that would rather do a visual check and leave the consumables alone for five years. The HeartSine Samaritan 360P fits a unit that gets carried, at 1.1 kg with a single cartridge to replace.

How much do the Mindray C1A and the HeartSine 360P cost?

The Mindray C1A Non Connected is $1,890, down from $1,995, and the HeartSine Samaritan 360P is $1,575, down from $1,995 with free shipping. That is $315 between them. Mindray pricing improves on quantities, so a multi-site order is worth a call to 1300 720 024 before you order online.

What does each one cost to keep ready?

The Mindray C1A takes MR62 universal pads at $120 and a C Series battery at $395, each with a five-year life, ordered as two separate items. The HeartSine 360P takes one Pad-Pak at $249, holding the battery and the pads together with one expiry date, replaced every four years. HeartSine supplies a free Pad-Pak after genuine use, conditions apply.

Can both units be used on a child?

Yes, and they go about it differently. The Mindray C1A has a child mode button that lowers the shock to between 35 and 90 joules on the same universal pads, so nothing is swapped. The HeartSine 360P takes a separate Paediatric-Pak cartridge, $299, for a child aged 1 to 8 or weighing under 25 kg.

Are these units fully automatic or semi automatic?

Both SKUs listed in our shop are fully automatic, which means the unit analyses the heart rhythm and delivers the shock itself after warning everyone to stand clear. Semi automatic versions, where the rescuer presses a shock button when told to, are available on request for both the Mindray C1A and the HeartSine 360P. Call 1300 720 024 for pricing.
